Actress Poorna who has made a name for herself by acting in some of the notable Telugu films including Allari Naresh's 'Seema Tapakai', Ravi Babu's 'Avunu' and 'Raju Gari Gadhi', has divulged that her family had to face a difficult time when she had locked lips with her co-star in a film.
It may be recalled that Poorna had done a lip-lock scene with Naresh in 'Seema Tapakai'. Describing about the aftereffects of it, Poorna said, 'Society puts a lot of restrictions on Muslim actresses. My brother, who works in Saudi, became very upset after watching that lip-lock scene. I could imagine the plight when his friends commented about me in front of him. My parents have also faced a few embarrassing moments because of the scene that I did just as part of my job'.
Poorna's real name is Shamna Khasim and she comes from a conservative Muslim family based in Kerala. She explained that she had to change her name when people kept mispronouncing it.
The 'Avunu' actress is all excited about her latest outing 'Jayammu Nischayammu Raa' that hit screens on 25th Nov.
